If Senator Obama only knew what President Obama was doing!

A few weeks ago I thought that writing on Obama’s hypocrisies would be a good topic for my blog. Since then, I’ve been keeping my eyes open for things that I thought would fit well with that theme. Wow, I knew the man was a hypocrite, but I really had no idea what a monstrous task I’d set for myself. So, what was going to be one post looks like it’s going to be at least 5, probably more. Progressive Insanity’s first multi-part story. Please, don’t forget to join my blog so that you don’t miss the next ones!

Obama Then vs. Obama Now – Hypocrisies Abound

United States Representative Steve Stockman of Texas summed it up best when he tweeted “Senator Obama is going to be irate when he finds out what the President has been doing.” He hit the nail on the head with that statement! Senator and candidate Obama said a lot of things that President Obama apparently does not agree with. The list is long, and covers a litany of different topics:

  • War/USA’s role in war
  • Budget/Fiscal Issues
  • Enhanced Interrogation/Human Rights
  • Obamacare
  • Lobbyists/Friends
  • Medical Marijuana
  • Executive Privelage use
  • Spying

Send me your examples of his hypocrisies and I will try to include them in one of the next installment of this series.

War – How, when and if we should involve ourselves

Senator Obama gave a few speeches in which railed against President Bush for Bush’s role in the Iraq War. Always, his underlying reasoning was that President Bush exceeded his authority when he started the Iraq War. In December 2007 Senator Obama told the Boston Globe that “the president does not have power under the constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation”.

However, in 2011, he did exactly that when he took us into war with Libya. Colonel Gaddafi posed no threat to the United States. At least Bush allowed Congress to vote on us going to Iraq, Obama didn’t even bother taking the issue to them.

In 2002, Sen. Obama opposed the Iraq War saying that it “will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaeda.”

What effect then would a completely unjustified war with Libya accomplish? Joel Pollak, writing for Breitbart said:  “The same is certainly true of assistance to the Syrian rebels, which–aside from a desire to end the regime’s atrocities, which also applied to Saddam Hussein’s Iraq–has no clear strategic objective. In fact, entering late, on what is apparently the losing side, poses great strategic problems.”

Spying – How far is too far?

In 2005 then Senator Obama decried Bush’s Patriot Act, saying

“…And if someone wants to know why their own government has decided to go on a fishing expedition through every personal record or private document – through library books they’ve read and phone calls they’ve made – this legislation gives people no rights to appeal the need for such a search in a court of law. No judge will hear their plea, no jury will hear their case. This is just plain wrong. Giving law enforcement the tools they need to investigate suspicious activity is one thing – and it’s the right thing – but doing it without any real oversight seriously jeopardizes the rights of all Americans and the ideals America stands for.” -emphasis mine

In August 2007, he pledged to “end the illegal wiretapping of American citizens”. But, just a few short years later, he defends his administrations right to go far beyond how Bush’s Administration used the Patriot Act.

Senator Mark Kirk of IL said

“This act by the Obama Administration is clearly unconstitutional. The federal government has no probable cause to believe that all users of Verizon phones are presumed the aiders and abettors to international criminals,” said the Senate staffer. He continued, “The 4th Amendment requires probable cause and it does not exist, unless if we are now to presume that all Americans are potential terrorists.”

The Administration has insisted the unprecedented invasion into innocent American’s privacy was instrumental in thwarting a major terrorist attack. However, they cannot disclose any information regarding any terrorist attack that was stopped using these means. As usual, their reply is, in essence, “trust us on this” … until we find out something new, and they change their reply again.

Let the debate begin!

Obama’s hypocrisies are worse than Romney’s, and that’s saying a lot. I’d be very interested in seeing the hypocrisies that you come up with. Please, send me an email or leave a comment with an example of his hypocrisy and I’ll try to get it into the next installment.

Obama Watch From Target Point Consulting

Obama’s continuing favorability is not such a surprise in light of charts like the one below. Our “Gimme, gimme, gimme More” society got this jerk elected to the most powerful seat in the world, and then got his ass elected again. Everything about Obama disgusts me. His arrogance, mainly, and his disregard for America’s traditional values. Everything else stems from those two things, in my opinion.

I stop by Target Point Consulting once every once in a while and was amused to see their May 15-16 Obama Watch chart (see below). Amused … it is a SAD day when seeing that the only item discussed favorably with regard to our current pResident was entitlements. Let me say that again … the ONLY item that Obama’s Administration had positive remarks about was entitlements.

Are you surprised?

Big surprise: Wife of former IRS director works for liberal group ‘laying the foundation for reform’

We already know that Big Media & the Obama Administration are in cahoots, and we know that there are some familial relationships between people in the Obama Administration and some of the big networks.

These Familial Relationships between Big Media & Obama’s Administration continue to show the arrogance or “the one”

Before we get to the story, cue Drebin:

From the Daily Caller:

Shulman’s wife Susan L. Anderson is the senior program advisor for the Washington-based nonprofit organization Public Campaign, which claims that it “is laying the foundation for reform by working with a broad range of organizations, including local community groups, around the country that are fighting for change and national organizations whose members are not fairly represented under the current campaign finance system.”

That “broad range of organizations” Public Campaign works with wouldn’t include the IRS, would it?

To top off the curious connection, the CEO of the organization Shulman’s wife works for downplayed conservatives’ concerns:

“There are legitimate questions to be asked about political groups that are hiding behind a 501(c)4 status,” Nyhart said in a statement provide to ABC. “It’s unfortunate a few bad apples at the IRS will make it harder for those questions to be asked without claims of bias.”

As of right now the number of “few bad apples” looks like it could be around 88.

In a related story, the new defense of the Obama administration is that Shulman didn’t visit the White House well over 100 times within a two year period, but rather the number of visits could have been as low as 11.

At about the 1:10 mark of the video below from a House hearing, Virginia Democrat Gerry Connolly mentions to Shulman that he visited the White House 118 times and Shulman didn’t object at all. You’d think the difference between 11 and 118 would be so great that Shulman would have wanted to correct the record:

Even a White House spokesperson wasn’t going to try to spin 157 down to 11:

When asked about Pfeiffer’s tweet in the White House press briefing Friday afternoon, White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest did not dispute that Shulman visited the White House at least 157 times, only saying that the president was committed to “transparency” and that most of the meetings Shulman attended involved Obamacare.

Earnest forgot about all the Easter Egg Rolls.

Update: More of your tax dollars at play.

Liberals just can’t see past Bush!

I’ve been spending some time on Twitter tonight and reading the links that interested me when I came across the story on Mediate about Eric Bolling hanging up on Geraldo’s “show” mid-interview. As I usually do, I read the story and then continued down to the comments. /sigh ….

Bush has been out of office, shoot, out of the public eye, for 5 years now and the liberals still bring up his name at every opportunity. The refrain “…but Booooosh” echoes throughout the progressive/liberal dialogue. I’m about as sick of hearing that as I am sick of being called a racist for disagreeing with Oblamer. Ya know what? I don’t want the white guy under Oblamer in there either!

Not racist, impeach them both

For the record, I never had a problem with Bush. I also didn’t pay attention. I was very UN-into politics. Didn’t care, and didn’t care to care. Things were good for me and mine and I just plain didn’t pay attention. However, since then I have read quite a bit of these “but Boooosh” arguments, and they fall flat on their face time and time again. The Patriot Act is the sole item from Bush’s Administration that I have looked into that gives me pause. The government, who apparently can’t even look after their own, want to look into me? Yeah, I don’t like that one bit. BUT, I understand the reasoning behind it.

At the Mediate link there is  a commenter who is obviously still hung up on Booosh. He/she apparently thinks every conservative is a racist, old, white guy. He/she said used that on several comments to people who replied to anything that he/she wrote. I couldn’t help but get into the fray …

You’re right, I do pretty much hate this pResident. He’s done nothing but marginalize us around the world, pit races against one another and send his cronies after those who dared oppose him. For the record, I’m a white female. Calling everyone who opposes this joke of a pResident old and racist got old a long time ago, y’all really need to find a new line, that one isn’t working anymore. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t pay attention when Bush was President. Things were going well, for me and mine, and politics didn’t interest me. It wasn’t until it became clear that so many were going to vote for a man who had done almost nothing but vote “present” his entire career that I became alarmed enough, and interested enough, to get involved. So the “where were you when Bush” lines don’t work either, I wasn’t paying attention. I’m paying attention now and I’m horrified, scared, and absolutely appalled at what is happening to our country. I don’t understand how people can continue to support this administration. Forget about Bush, it’s not about Bush dammit. It’s about NOW. Bush has NOTHING to do with this. It’s just another red herring. Oblamer is what is happening to this country right now, and it’s NOT good.

I hadn’t planned to publish tonight, but things happen, so there ya go. I’ll be publishing a new one Sunday, hope to see you back then!

Obama Administration Bullies

I haven’t written any new posts in a while for a couple of different reasons. One, I am really unhappy with the state of my website now. I wanted to move everything over from the sub-directory to the main directory so that you, my readers, could just type in http://www.progressiveinsanity.com and you’d get me. Sadly, when I moved the sub-directory, I somehow managed to lose everything – including access to the dang thing. So, I’m starting over, trying to get the colors right and the layout right. It’s a headache, to say the least. And, to top it all off, the main site is still in a dang sub-directory!! I’m still working on the site, but it’s at least at a place where I’m not totally mortified to let people see it – so, I’m back.

The second reason is that all of the Obama Administration scandals got me overwhelmed. I couldn’t decide what which one to write about. I’d love to know your thoughts on these scandals. Which one is the one that just makes your blood boil? Which one, if any, do you think will ultimately cause some

purple-divider-md

These scandals coming to light shouldn’t be a surprise to those who’ve had their eyes open. This is just how Obama does business. Most of us only do something at work if we know it’s something that the boss is okay with us doing. Some “low level” employees are not going to take it upon themselves to target a group of people if they think they’re going to lose their job when it gets found out.

Obama has a history of targeting those who disagree with him. It’s always someone under him who does this outrageous “fact” gathering, but sooner or later, you’ve got to realize the pattern is quite clear. I’ll say it again, you only do things like this if your boss tells you to do them, or at the very least, if you know your boss would approve.

A short list of those who’ve been on the receiving end of his childish, vindictive, behavior:

I guess we all have a couple of choices to make. We either need to do a little housekeeping to make sure that we’ll get through any unwanted attention from the Obama Administration, or sit back, shut up, and watch our once proud United States of America become another socialist state where you’re not allowed to speak up at all.

10 Charts That Demonstrate The Slow, Agonizing Death Of The American Worker

The charts in this post are a shocking contrast to the lies coming out of the current administration. Yet one more reason that I can not stand our current pResident.

Sheeple: People unable to think for themselves

The middle class American worker is in danger of becoming an endangered species.  The politicians are not telling you the truth, and the mainstream media is certainly not telling you the truth, but the reality is that there is nothing but bad news on the horizon for workers in the United States.  In the old days, when the big corporations that dominate our society did well, that also meant good things for American workers since those corporations would need more of us to work for them.  But in the emerging one world economic system that our economy is being merged into, those corporations have other choices now.

For instance, the big corporations can now choose to limit the number of “expensive” American workers that they employ by shipping millions of jobs to the other side of the world.  And from their perspective, it makes perfect sense.  They can make…
